Simon Dalley

Simon Dalley is both a business owner and local resident. He is a passionate advocate for Bacup and is well known around the town, having a presence in a number of different forums, community groups and organisations. You will regularly see him in attendance at local events, which he often helps to organise or manage.

Simon is primarily known for being the founder of one of the UK’s leading search marketing agencies: GrowTraffic, which is headquartered in Bacup whilst also having offices in South Yorkshire and a presence in the USA.

Additionally, he chairs a number of businesses in diverse industries ranging from marketing to software development to property development. He also co-founded a Bacup-based Community Interest Company called The Let’s Talk Project, which is an emotional support and listening service to help those with mental health issues in the local area.

Simon is passionate about the role the built environment can have in the lives of people in the community. He is also a passionate advocate for digital equity and men’s mental health.

Of the Bacup 2040 Masterplan, Simon commented: “Working in the digital economy, I recognise the world is changing and I really believe that the built environment is so important to the way people live their lives.

“Bacup Market Square sits in the heart of our historic town. However, the market is currently underutilised and isn’t contributing to the economy of the town in the way a modern market should.

“We have focused on the market as the centrepiece with which to create a new economic engine for growth in Bacup, but the Bacup 2040 Vision is all encompassing and looks to create a town that people will want to live, work, visit and play.”
